Welcome to The Vintage Homemaker’s Life.
My name is Esther and I’m excited you’re here at The Vintage Homemaker’s Life. Here on my blog I hope to inspire you.
Homemaking is something that takes time to learn. I’m learning all the time.
My goals in life are to master simple living so that I can focus on the things I love. Like spending time with my family.
My hope is to give simple and budget friendly homemaking ideas that will make your life a little easier.
I will share recipes, cleaning tips, DIY’s and natural living.
Keep coming back as I share new posts weekly.
A bit about me here at The Vintage Homemaker’s Life.
My husband, Brian, and I have been married for 31 years. We’ve been blessed with three children who are now grown. Two daughters and a son. We live in a suburban neighborhood on a 6,000 square foot lot.
I’m a city girl living out my vintage dreams in my city house.
I love to go antiquing and shopping at thrift stores. I’ve learned to keep my eyes open for unique pieces of furniture that are vintage but may need to be painted for example.
See my tutorial how to paint a chair here.
I’ll get inspiration on Pinterest then replicate a similar look by shopping on Craiglist, Goodwill or an antique store.
I also find things on Amazon or at Target. I will share these finds with you and if I can, I will link those finds to make it easier for you. Here’s a post of some tried and true gadgets I personally own that are insanely useful.
I will be sharing what to look for when shopping for vintage finds. So stay tuned.
Creating a cozy home.
A beautiful home should be cozy and welcoming.
A place to kick your feet up and relax.
I want to share with you that it doesn’t have to be show room worthy to be beautiful. It can be your unique one of a kind home that has your touch that makes it feel inviting and has cozy elements that welcomes you home each day.
My goal is to give you ideas and then you run with it and make it your own.
Passing on my knowledge.
My hope is to pass on my knowledge of furniture placement, creating cozy seating and inviting areas through eye catching décor pieces that will make you feel at home.
Sharing step by step DIYs (like the one here) that are budget friendly that you can implement into creating your own cozy areas in your home.
Being a Homemaker.
Being a mom and homemaker for 30 plus years I learned easy ways to make life less stressful.
The main life lesson has been making my daily house chores simple.
I’ve incorporated routines and daily habits that are easy.
They had to be, since I literally hate cleaning house.
My hope is to share my easy routines that creates a clean home without a ton of work. Who doesn’t like that idea?
What to expect from this blog.
There will be a lot of things to perk your interest here on my blog.
From our homestead adventure (I’ll share more about this as our life unfolds) to tips and tricks for caring for your home.
Plus, the addition of simple homemade recipes and meals that are super slimming.
